Privacy notice
How the waste operator you booked with collects and uses your personal information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
Your name, contact number, email (if given), and the service address for your skip — only what is needed to quote, deliver, collect, and invoice your booking.
Why we use it
To fulfil your booking: scheduling, dispatching a driver, contacting you about the job (SMS/WhatsApp), invoicing, and keeping a record of the service.
Who sees it
The operator and its drivers/staff. We do not sell your information. Service providers (e.g. SMS and payment processors) process it only to deliver the service.
How long we keep it
For as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax/legal record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You may ask the operator for a copy of the personal information they hold about you, ask them to correct it, or ask them to delete it (subject to legal record-keeping). Contact the operator you booked with to exercise these rights.
Where your data lives
SkipDrop processes personal information using the following sub-processors: Supabase (EU — database), Vercel (US — application hosting), Resend (US — transactional email), SMS Portal (South Africa — SMS), PayFast (South Africa — payments).
Cross-border transfers occur under POPI § 72(1)(c) — necessary for performance of the contract between you and the operator you booked with.
